A good‑looking website isn't enough. A good website has one job: turn visitors into customers. Here are seven things your site should get right. Go through them and see where you can improve.
1. It's clear what you do within 5 seconds
Visitors decide fast. Right at the top it must be clear who you are, what you offer and who it's for. Not vague slogans, but a specific line such as “Turnkey bathroom renovations in Bratislava”.
2. It works perfectly on mobile
Most people now search on their phones. Text must be readable without zooming, buttons big enough and phone numbers tappable.
3. It loads fast
If a site takes too long to load, many people leave before they even see it. Compressed images, clean code and good hosting help. Google also takes speed into account when ranking results.
4. A clear call to action
What should the visitor do? Call, write, book? A button such as “Get a quote” or “Book a slot” must be visible and appear in several places on the site.
5. Trust: references, photos, real details
People buy from people. Real photos of you and your work, customer reviews, company details and clear prices build trust far more than stock photos.
6. Easy to get in touch
A contact form, email, phone and ideally WhatsApp. The less effort it takes to reach you, the more enquiries you get. And reply quickly, ideally within 24 hours.
7. It can be found on Google
A website nobody finds doesn't help. The basics are proper headings and page descriptions, registering with Google Search Console and a Google Business Profile that puts you on the map. Blog articles answering your customers' questions help too.
